About the game

DESCENT is a builder first. Pieces are not stretched, banked or procedurally generated to fit — each one is an authored mesh with a fixed length, grade and connector profile, and the circuit is whatever those pieces let you make. Pick a piece, drag it toward a connector, and a translucent preview snaps into place. Insert or move something in the middle and everything after it reconnects.

The kit is eleven purchased piece types — straight, half straight, 90° and 45° turns in both hands, drop, chicane, slalom, spinner and bumpers — built from eight fixed Blender meshes. The running surface slopes gently toward a rounded centre so gravity pulls marbles away from the walls; rounded inner corners, consistent vertical walls and copper rims share one connector profile across the whole kit.

Racing is free rigid-body motion at 120 physics ticks per second: static pins and bumpers, a physical rotating paddle, and an open catch pot at the end that the finishers stay in, visible and collidable, while they settle. Sixteen marbles to start, upgradable to ninety-six. Earnings depend on how many arrive, how long and how steep the circuit is, how varied it is, and how far you have come.

The editor has no artificial piece limit. There is one saved circuit slot, one void environment and three dark finishes — Foundry, Midnight and Oxide — that apply to every piece you own. An authored 217 m obstacle circuit descending 28 m ships with the game, loadable from the settings menu and undoable if you would rather keep your own.

What you actually do

  1. 01

    Authored pieces, not procedural fits

Eight high-detail meshes with fixed dimensions and one shared connector profile. Nothing is stretched to close a gap.

  2. 02

    Magnetic assembly

Drag a piece to a connector and a translucent preview snaps in. Insert in the middle and the rest reconnects itself.

  3. 03

    Real rigid-body marbles

120 physics ticks per second, static pins and bumpers, a physical rotating paddle, and an open catch pot they settle in.

  4. 04

A shop that pays for ambition

Earnings scale with completed marbles, track length, descent, variety and progression — then buy more parts with it.

  5. 05

    Sixteen up to ninety-six

Capacity and payout upgrades, timing, finish order, failed runs, uncapped mastery ranks and automatic successive races.

  6. 06

    Three dark finishes

Foundry, Midnight and Oxide, unlocked once and applied to every piece you own — during placement or after the fact.
