Hidden Nook Games

Independent game studio

Hidden Nook Games makes small, systems-driven idle and incremental games — the kind you leave open in a tab, check on between things, and think about when you shouldn't.

The games

Every title is a live playtest. Save files live in your browser, progress continues while the tab is closed, and nothing is sold.

The studio

A quiet corner for loud systems.

Hidden Nook Games is a one-person studio. The games are small on purpose: one strong loop, a world that shows its state without a spreadsheet, and rules you can hold in your head.

Every game is built iteratively — designed by a game designer, coded alongside AI tools, and playtested in public. That means rough edges, announced save resets, and honest changelogs. It also means the games actually ship.

If something in the nook makes you leave a tab open for a week, it did its job.

Toolbox

React, TypeScript, PixiJS and Three.js for the browser titles. Godot 4 for desktop. Vite and Vercel to ship.

House rules

  1. 01

    Preparation over reflexes

Decisions happen before the fight, the expedition or the era gate. Execution is automatic.

  2. 02

    The world is the UI

Progress shows on the planet, the card, the map — not only in a number.

  3. 03

    Offline is a feature

Every game keeps working while it's closed. Coming back should feel like a reward.

  4. 04

    Readable rules

Rates, costs and risks are visible in-game. No wiki required.

Playtest feedback shapes what gets built next. Write a few lines, attach a save code if it's relevant, and it will be read.
